Tattered Rose is sometimes a place for miracles.....whether it is old friends seeing each other for the first time in years while they are both shopping in the store, or the discovery of a brilliant & talented young singer who agrees to be a part of your in-store shopping events.....or what happened yesterday, quite by chance.

How many female carpenters do you know? I know exactly two, and they are both my customers & now friends. And they both ended up in Tattered Rose yesterday at the same time.

They were introduced to each other and I suddenly realized and said out loud to them "You are BOTH carpenters!" The look of recognition in their eyes was a thing to behold as they talked of similar career paths and experiences in their lives.

Even though they are from different generations, there was a kinship that we all recognized and the three of us chatted and laughed for quite some time, sharing stories and goosebumps. Kindred spirits enjoying our time together.

Before they left, contact info was exchanged and I am sure that they will be lifelong friends who happened to meet in Tattered Rose a few days before Christmas 2017.  It was a small but meaningful miracle to witness and I was so grateful to be a part of it.

Women are the best & the strongest when we stand together. This is something I believe with every fibre of my being and also what is behind everything I do for my customers and the store. Tattered Rose is here to help you express yourself through the clothing you wear and if we become friends at the same time, all the better.....the gift of friendship is something to be treasured that is beyond the store/customer relationship.

Now, these are the kind of miracles I adore!

The last few days before Christmas....

These are the last days before Christmas and your shopping is probably winding down a bit as you search for those last few gifts for your wife, friend, niece, daughter.....and we have lots of perfect gifts for her in the store.

Plus, we have GIFT CERTIFICATES for those who are overwhelmed with choices. Let her choose what she would like. It's a win-win situation, no?

Tattered Rose will be open Thursday & Friday from 11-4 and Saturday from 11-3 but closed on Christmas Eve. because that falls on a Sunday and we have our own Christmas-y stuff to do.

Holiday Hours & a Few Other Tidbits....

Hi Everyone....

Well, things are winding down these last 2 weeks before Christmas. It has been hectic for me personally but rewarding also. I truly appreciate people, this world, the wonderful & loyal customers of Tattered Rose and all that I have in my life, including my dear friends and my cats, all 4 of them.

Last Saturday night, we had an impromptu private shopping event in the store with a singer playing her guitar and singing some of her own songs in that beautiful, unique voice!

We, and I mean I, really enjoyed hosting this little event and plan to do more of them in the coming year. 

It is a great way to get to know your customers in a more social setting and just enjoy their appreciation of the store. It was akin to being in a huge closet left untouched found somewhere in Paris....and the ladies got to peruse and try on some of the prettiest clothing around.
We sincerely wish all of our customers & friends a most joyous Christmas, Hanukkah, Holiday season all the way into the New Year!

On that note, I thought I should post my holiday hours:

Wish upon a star......

As we approach that day of the year again, I am thankful that I do not have a broken arm like I did last year, when 2 days before Christmas, I fell and fractured my humerus.......what an ordeal THAT was. I had to close my store 2 days before Christmas for about 7 weeks!

This year, Tattered Rose will be open right up until 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 23rd....for those last minute shoppers.

We have some wonderful items for gift-giving (table toppers, hats & scarves, jewellery, accessories, clothing, etc) as well as outfits waiting for you.

Wishing all of our customers a happy holiday season but we are also mindful of those less fortunate. I always give generously to the Salvation Army collections because a higher percentage of the money goes directly to helping those in need. 

May your wishes come true; what ever they may be.

Remembrance Day

Tattered Rose has carried the Sympli the Best line of clothing for about 9 years now. We have had one of the largest selections of this Canadian made line for most of that time. But then something changed....

New investors of the Sympli brand brought their own vision to the styles that were being produced, with many of our favourite, romantic styles being discontinued. The new direction of the line is, in our view, less romantic and flowing than once was the case. We therefore, were unable to add new items to our selection at Tattered Rose and still maintain our romantic take on the line.

However, recent resurrections of some familiar (romantic) styles has prompted us to once again delve into the world of Sympli. It is, after all, a very beautiful line of clothing that can take you from the office to Paris....so versatile and easy to care for.

So we have done a concise and stylish display in the store with some of the best pieces we have carried from Sympli the Best. Plus, we still have a lot of very wearable styles available in our sale section with some great pricing for our Sympli customers.

Tattered Rose Couture

Can you feel just the slightest tinge of Fall in the morning air? We LOVE Fall because the fashion is so much more complex and interesting...lots of textures and layers. (Don't worry...there is still plenty of summer weather left for those who prefer warmer weather)

Beginning this month, Tattered Rose will be seeing the arrival of new and beautiful Fall clothing, including some of our exclusive "couture" (hand made, one-of-a-kind) items.
