Corsets are so romantic, giving the wearer an exaggerated feminine shape.

Tattered Rose sells beautiful silk brocade, silk dupioni and cotton steel-boned corsets...but not like this Victorian one that was never meant to be seen outside of the boudoir and was worn much too tightly.

I don't know about you, but I like being able to breathe without fainting♥

Tattered Rose Wedding Apparel is Back!

Technically, it never really went away, that is the eclectic collection of beautifully romantic dresses, coats, skirts, tops and corsets that are perfect for the garden, beach, small-venue type of weddings.

It's just that the owner and in-house designer of some of these outfits (me) took a brief hiatus from "being in the wedding business" for one reason or another.

We still are not a wedding shop, as such....we do not have racks upon racks of mass produced wedding apparel; however, for those romantic brides-to-be who are searching for something different.........a vintage-inspired, hand-made, hand dyed wedding dress and/or outfit........Tattered Rose has a small & lovely collection of wedding apparel.

Our shop in Edmonton carries one of the most eclectic mixes of women's clothing, jewellery, accessories & home decor you have ever seen in one place!

From Victorian to Gothic....Steampunk to vintage....original designs & handmade....office soft dressing (Sympli the Best) to casual (Cut Loose) and so much more that cannot be described in a few sentences.

And while the owner/in-house designer is a little bit eccentric & goofy, she has a heart of gold and really wants to make each customer feel wonderful in what they buy to wear. I can say that about myself because I know my thoughts.

What to wear when it's raining.......

Today's a different day (from yesterday), all gloomy, overcast and damp...a very Gothic day.

I just look at this as "permission" to wear my black clothing and not look totally weird. Wearing black in summer is not always understood by people who prefer colourful and light clothing during the summer.

Luckily, for those of us who love wearing dark colours, like black and grey and darker black and charcoal....a day like this is perfect♥

Shades of Pink...the Softness of a Rose

Tattered Rose has some of the softest & prettiest shades of pink clothing around......just waiting for you to remember how feminine the colour PINK is.....but not in a girly, candy pink sort of way nor implying any lack of strength.

It's just a pretty colour to wear and incorporate into your existing wardrobe. Think of the combinations: pink & denim (jeans)...pink & brown....pink & grey....pink & black....pink & cream....pink & white....pink & taupe....pink & red....pink & blue. It really IS so versatile & lovely ♥
