A few weeks ago, out of the blue and having never really eaten them, I picked up 3 red grapefruits at the grocery store. I don't know why I did this...maybe they looked inviting or maybe my body was telling me I needed vitamin C.
Long ago, I did eat yellow grapefruit, cut in half with sugar added...you know, the way most people would consume this fruit.
But I decided to try eating my red grapefruit whole, with the pith still attached (not the skin...that I peeled off) It was refreshingly satisfying...a bit on the tart side but otherwise, really delicious.
Then, I started doing some research on the health benefits of eating a whole grapefruit every day.....holy petunia, they are really good for us!!
CAUTION: If you are on blood pressure medication or any other medication, check with your doctor first before eating grapefruit. They are so powerful, they may interfere with your medications.
